Week 13: Post 2: Visible Rhetoric Artifact

I thought about a visual artifact for this week and was taking a look at our book, Practices of Looking. Since the summary of this text is about the way visual culture influences us and the rhetoric behind those messages, I took a closer look at the cover. As I noticed the pictures that they decided to use, I thought it was appropriate for them to use a picture of Las Vegas at night. This city is probably one of the best examples of the cities in the U.S. that is based off of images. The aesthetics of the lights and the casinos are all conveying messages of a reality that is amidst one of the most poverty stricken communities in the country.
